Target Audience

I asked five people about alternative rock music videos and what they like/dislike about them. This is what they said.

Holly Cummings- they're usually fast paced and interesting and they usually have some sort of story or meaning behind them (like fall out boy with the chronicles thingy) which is rad. and i dislike that they are sometimes too dark or have gore in.

Freya Mawhinney- I really like music videos that have the actual band in them because I think it's more appealing to me to see the band rather than like a progressional story through a video. I also really like videos that are quite funny and upbeat like ain't it fun. I dislike that in some music videos women's bodies are over exposed, I think it's very sexist. I also dislike really depressing music videos because I think it has an impact on the way you analyse the lyrics and Then think of that band as a whole.

Clara Wade- I like that they aren't as cheesy as other genres of music. I also like that they aren't all about love stories and if they are about love stories there is often some kind of twist on them which makes them different. What I don't like about them is that quite a lot of them have dark themes and can portray the genre in quite a negative way.

Zach Trueman-Daniels- well i like costumes that they have, the mise-en-scene of the videos. i dislike that some times there are repetitive shots throughout the video as they can get quite boring.

Caitlin Small- I like that they stand out against the mainstream charts videos with their individualism and unique ideas, and I dislike that some artists take their videos too far to stand out, showing degradation of fellow human beings and grotesque mutilation.
